Catholic Health Ministry of Saskatchewan
The CHMS currently owns and operates nine health care facilities in Saskatchewan, including one existing long-term care home in Saskatoon. With over a century of well respected history in delivering high quality, compassionate healthcare for the people of Saskatchewan, CHMS is confident that Amicus Health Care Inc., through Samaritan Place, will provide long-lasting benefits to the citizens of our province.
Saskatoon Health Region
The Board of Directors of the Saskatoon Health Region has endorsed and approved the Samaritan Place pilot project. Admission to Samaritan Place will be through the resident assessment and placement process administered by the Saskatoon Health Region. Amicus Healthcare has a Continuing Care Service Agreement with the Health Region which ensures Samaritan Place will have residents to utilize the resident-responsive accommodation the project will provide.
Testing a New Healthcare Model
Samaritan Place is testing a new health care model which will help meet the pressing unmet need for additional resident-responsive accommodation and service to be provided quickly.
The model removes the financial burden, especially from community groups and operators, to fund raise large amounts of money for construction and renovation of accommodation which supports residents’ needs.
The Samaritan Place pilot project offers a model with the potential to address an existing shortage of resident-responsive accommodation by providing new facilities in a shorter time frame while protecting groups building new facilities against escalating construction costs.
